Veterinarian
Dr. Ashley Silvey has a deep appreciation for every aspect of animal care and companionship. Her love for animals began when she was a child, and has grown to include most animals, but especially horses and dogs. Dr. Silvey continued to cultivate her love of animals by shadowing her mentor and friend, Dr. Eugene Story of Gallatin, Missouri, during high school and throughout her curriculum as she obtained her veterinary degree. Dr. Kelly Hoyt of Wellsville, Kansas, has also assisted Ashley in further developing her veterinary business goals and helped her design the floor plan of her rustic, yet modern clinic. Dr. Hoyt has been an invaluable positive mentor, friend, and coach for all things related to medicine and surgery.
Prior to veterinary medicine, Dr. Silvey first obtained a bachelor of science in nursing, and began her nursing career as a medical surgical RN working for Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Missouri. She later worked for the Clinton County Health Department as a public health RN providing an array of services for the young to the elderly. She later obtained a bachelor of science in biology prior to her acceptance into the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon completion of Dr. Silvey’s first year in veterinary school at the University of Missouri, she was awarded the Glenn & Mary James Scholarship for large animal medicine. Dr. Silvey obtained her DVM degree in 2024 and has worked tirelessly to form her dream mixed animal veterinary clinic to serve the rural community in which she loves.
Overall, Dr. Silvey's diverse personal and professional experiences have enabled her to develop an innovative approach to human and animal health concerns.
